GOD’S LOVE AND MERCY

Posted on June 11th, 2008

Indian culture is different. There is no doubt in my mind that it is one of the hardest cultures I have experienced, but God’s mercy does go from everlasting to everlasting. If there was one thing evident to me on this trip it was that God’s mercy is much bigger than any difficultly that we might have.

I cannot explain how much I was truly blessed to simply just be a part of this team. The team itself was a miracle. I am sure that I will not talk to all the people on the team every week, but I do know that their lives were and still are such an example to me. Go Global does such an awesome job making sure that everyone on the team is prepared spiritually for the trip. It makes such a difference when you have a group of people that are not simply a group but a group with the same focus and goal. This allows everyone to move and function together – the essence of a team.

God absolutely wrecked my life while I was on this trip. I learned at a new level of what it means to love. I did not love because I thought I should, but because I began to realize how much God loves. God loves every person in India, all 1.1 billion of them. There is something interesting about loving people and desperately wanting them to know that Jesus alone is their answer; it begins to hurt and burn inside of you. This really hit the first night that we were there…The salvation message had just been preached and the call to salvation was made. I remember seeing the hands go up for those who wanted to receive Christ. I remember it vividly. Everything stopped; there were hundreds of hands in the air; the people were looking so hard for something, and they knew this was it. It was a life-changing night. India changed my life. I will never be the same.
